The Benefits Of Practicing CrossFit

CrossFit

For some years now, CrossFit has become quite popular because its effects guarantee good physical and mental health. Are you interested in experimenting with this training system?

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning training system based on constantly varied functional exercises performed at a very high intensity.

According to trainer Lisseth Lemus, since the exercises performed in a CrossFit session have been selected from movements performed in everyday life, but are combined with different techniques, people feel benefits day after day because, as it is functional training, it is based on multi-joint or compound movements.

So what benefits can you get from practicing it?

  • Improves cardiovascular and energy endurance
  • Increase your muscle strength
  • It gives you greater flexibility
  • Increases your speed and agility
  • Improve your coordination
  • Improve your balance

In addition to the benefits of the discipline itself, it will also guarantee you the fruits of exercise such as reduced stress, maintained body weight, improved joint mobility, increased oxygen flow to the brain, improved sleep quality, maintaining a healthy blood sugar level, and more.

Trainer Sara Girón stresses that although some tools are used, many of the CrossFit exercises are performed with the body’s weight, and that is why as you work, muscle mass increases, resulting in greater strength.

He also explains that although CrossFit consists of individual challenges, which will make those who practice it become more competitive and have a fighting spirit, there are also challenges that must be solved collectively in a practice, which creates group motivation and collaboration between people. Self-image and self-esteem will also benefit.

For his part, sports graduate and trainer Enrique Lucas says that since cardio exercises are combined with weights, CrossFit allows you to develop physical abilities that are not worked on in a gym. “Ideally, you should train five days a week, but doing it three times a week will be enough for a person to start seeing results if it is accompanied by an adequate diet,” he explains.

In addition to saying that CrossFit is excellent for physical training for athletes and that the standard time for training in most gyms that offer it is one hour, Lucas emphasizes that it can be practiced by anyone as long as they work with a professional. “If, for example, the person has a herniated disc, a professional physical trainer will know which exercises they can do and which are not recommended; if they suffer from heart problems, they will be told to use a monitor to control their heart rate, etc.,” he says.
